The position
As the Site Services Trades Person, you will have the ability to get involved in delivering civil construction, utility services, general building and handyperson services.
The core responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Follow safe work practices, procedures, instructions and company rules at all times to ensure we create, maintain and foster a safe work environment at all times.
- Carryout work as programmed, planned and instructed by the Site Services Supervisor.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with the relevant Work Order, Project or Management of Change documentation, Drawings, Specifications, Procedures, or ITP’s and within reasonable time.
- Ensure that work is performed consistently and, as a minimum, in accordance with good quality, best trade competency and practice expectations.
- Maintain and use professional and personal tools of trade and any company equipment as designed and such that does not compromise integrity or safety.
- Co-ordinate and work in a team environment, assist in the management of a harmonious environment, team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, including daily time cards, Work Orders, JSAs, Risk Assessment and Take 5s.
- Participate in the development, coaching and mentoring of trainee / apprentice personnel within the workgroup to attain their full potential.
- Willingness to undertake callout responsibilities as required.
- Participate in working offsite in support of Coogee operations, such as Port Hedland, Port Gregory, BHP MT Keith and Leinster, or any other locations as required from time to time.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Manager / Supervisor within applicable skills, knowledge and abilities.
The successful candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has:
- Relevant Trade Certification with minimum 2 years building industry exposure.
- Experience and/or key competencies highly desired:
- A proven work history with a passion for your work.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety systems and safe operating procedures in an industrial setting.
- Current WA Motor Vehicle drivers’ licence
- High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Crane, basic dogging, basic rigging, basic scaffolding and EWP) would be highly regarded.
- Good cross section of building trade knowledge, e.g. painting, bricklaying, tiling, basic plumbing
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certification
- Ability to read and understand construction, architectural and detail drawings with associated specifications and standards.
