This is a unique opportunity to join our Mobile Automation (MA) team as a Solutions Development Engineer. The role involves working closely with our Sales teams across the Asia Pacific region and our Australian based MA Design, Software and Commissioning teams to develop Mobile Automation solutions which are leading edge, cost effective and competitive in their offering.
This position allows for hybrid working arrangements (WFH & office combination) in support of the greater team.
The position can be based out of our Sydney (Belrose) or Melbourne (Notting Hill) offices.
Tasks and Qualifications:
The Key Responsibilities Include:
- Working with customers to understand their key requirements
- Analysing customer data and using modelling and simulations to determine the preferred option(s) for customer evaluation
- Working closely with the various Mobile Automation teams to develop suitable concepts and designs in-line with customer requirements and Dematic capabilities.
- Providing design and technical support to the Sales team
- Preparation of proposals and tender submissions in conjunction with the Sales team
- Conducting consultancy activities with select customers on budget, on time and to customers objectives
- Reviewing functional specifications following sales process to ensure they meet as-sold promise
- Ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and processes
- Ensuring smooth and complete handover of pre-sales information to post-sales Project Manager.
We are looking for a positive team player, who has the drive and ambition to develop their career in a growing, global organisation. To be successful in the role you will need the following:
Specifically, experience with equipment applications that include carton/tote conveyor sortation, unit sortation, warehouse control systems, ASRS, robotics, AGV’s, and directed picking systems would be highly regarded. In addition, we are looking for
- Tertiary qualification in engineering related discipline (degree qualified)
- Additional finance/business or supply chain qualifications would be highly regarded
- Experience or understanding of warehouse/distribution centre operations and the material handling industry as a whole
- Industry product knowledge and/or experience in Logistics and Automation
- Self-driven individual who enjoys working within a team and can demonstrate an ability to bring people together to achieve successful outcomes in short deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical thinking and strong numerical skills
- Experience with simulation using Kollmorgen control system is desirable, but not essential. (Training can be provided).
