The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity exists to join our team at Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group. The centre is a leading multi-disciplinary facility with orthopaedic surgery, allied health, ultrasound, X-ray, and rehabilitation all under one roof. Located in central Wollongong, the centre was launched in mid-August 2020 and is an Australian first concept in providing such a comprehensive range of orthopaedic and complementary services all in one location.
Working in partnership with experienced sonographers, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, podiatrists, exercise physiologists, radiologists, and nurses, this role is well suited to a student with a strong interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Position Overview: We are looking for a Sonography Student to gain hands-on experience and work alongside our clinical team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced sonographers, further extend your skillset, and contribute to patient care.
This is a part time role working predominantly Tuesday and Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist sonographers in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment and examination rooms.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
- Collect and record accurate patient information.
- Observe and learn from experienced professionals in a clinical setting.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
- Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Basic knowledge of ultrasound techniques and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach to healthcare.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
