Government opportunity in Parramatta CBD12 months initial contract with view to further extension$670 - 750 per day + super Our State Government Client supplies two-thirds of water used in NSW. More than a system operator they are also catchment protectors and water quality experts. They maintain and operate the assets that supply water to our customers and communities and skilfully manage the system through floods and drought – and are advocates for their customers and educators to the broader community.The RoleThe Sourcing Manager Leads and directs the provision of Procurement Services, including procurement planning, development, sourcing, contract, and risk management activities, to achieve value for money, to meet business needs and obligations under the Procurement Framework and excellence in safety.Key accountabilities will include: Safety: ensure all activities are undertaken with the safety of our people as the number one priority and always role model safe behaviour.Values: behave and make decisions in accordance with the Organisation Values at all times.Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all procurement related activity to ensure a high level of professional practice and deliver compliant, effective and efficient procurement outcomes.Develop and implement complex procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, address and mitigate risks, maximise commercial value delivery and challenge providers through competitive market engagement and dialogue, driving timely delivery of high quality goods and services and reducing cost for the business.Partner with stakeholders to develop innovative supply strategies that include outcomes to support our Reconciliation Action Plan and ESG program, establish supply arrangements, lead high-level negotiations and handover contracts effectively to deliver value for money outcomesProvide authoritative advice supported by extensive experience and knowledge of market leading practices to senior key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement to encourage innovative practices, drive commercial approach, achieve optimal delivery of business outcomes and adhere to the procurement framework directions.Lead and manage cross-functional procurement teams to successfully deliver procurement business plans and achieve optimal outcomes from procurement activity; engage with senior leaders providing assurance and seeking sponsor endorsements for procurement engagementsApply procurement governance and risk management framework to monitor compliance of procurement activity and performance, manage risk and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of processes, systems, tools, templates and ways of working.Ensure sourcing activities and related data are captured and managed in the required systems, for the purposes of tracking benefits and status of all projectsCoach sourcing and other team members to ensure effective management and efficient delivery of all procurement activities.To be successful you will need:Professional Procurement qualification (e.g. MCIPS), relevant Bachelor degree or experience deemed equivalentCurrent NSW Drivers LicenceApplied knowledge of procurement processes, policies, systems and frameworksApplied knowledge of corporate processes and structures to drive desired outcomesDemonstrated experience in partnering with the business to develop effective procurement strategies, lead commercial negotiations and manage contracts across the lifecycleExperience with ERP systems, including source-to-contract and procure-to-payTo Apply: To be eligible it is essential that applicants hold Permanent Residency, hold a current Driver Licence and have the ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
