We are searching for a dynamic addition to our culinary team! Position: Sous Chef - Fantastic Full-Time Opening at Bella
Discover Bella, a vibrant tapas bar nestled within the Darwin Waterfront. We're in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Sous Chef to complement our team. With the launch of our fresh menu in April 2024, we're committed to expanding and enriching our Mediterranean Tapas Menu.

The Role: As a Sous Chef, your full-time role will involve, but not be limited to:
- Creating and implementing the food offering.
- Designing a roster that meets budget requirements set by the owner.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Controlling the food GP’s in line with budget requirements.
- Recruitment, training, and development of staff.
- Developing and maintaining accurate recipes.
- Working in a high-volume environment without compromising on quality and preparation of ingredients.
Requirements: The successful candidate will:
- Be a hands-on Chef leading by example, spending most of your time in the kitchen with the team.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Possess experience in the event/functions industry.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, delegation, and time management skills.
- Showcase industry-leading knowledge of current food trends, products, and development techniques.
- Maintain an unwavering approach to quality and consistency in all aspects.
- Be passionate about the industry with a desire to create new and exciting dishes.
- Have general computer skills to implement kitchen systems and procedures, perform weekly reporting, and manage weekly rostering.
- Be a people person, interacting with customers at the pass and creating a positive point of difference.
- Be a professional who is passionate about building a business.
- Be ambitious and keen to make your mark.

Wages: Based on Restaurant Industry Award 2023 Standards:
- Full-Time: Salary based on a minimum of 38 hours per week. Holiday and personal leave accrued pro-rata, with salary determined by the level of experience.
