About the role
You will be responsible for providing and delivering exceptional service to each guest and will play a pivotal role in establishing Chiki Chan as a go-to destination for delightful cuisine and outstanding service.
Typical duties will include:
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and execute the restaurant's culinary vision.
- Contribute to the creation and innovation of menu items, ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to achieve excellence in food preparation and service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene. Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to kitchen staff. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Monitor and manage kitchen supplies, including ordering ingredients and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure that all food preparation and cooking activities comply with regulatory standards and Chiki Chan's policies.
About you
We are looking for someone that is passionate about delivering the ultimate experience to our guests. You will be passionate about hospitality and be an experienced Sous Chef in Asian cuisine.
In addition, the successful applicant will need to have the following but not limited to:
- Relevant degree or certificate in culinary.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a kitchen team.
- A passion for culinary innovation and the ability to contribute to the development of unique and appealing menu items.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with the kitchen team, front-of-house staff, and management.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach to achieve common goals.
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
- Right to work in Australia.
