We're looking for a Sous Chef
With growth here at Alta and an exciting second venue opening nearby in April we are now recruiting additional staff to join the team.
Alta is a homage to the honest yet sophisticated trattorias of Piemonte with the kitchen being led by McKay Wilday with experience across Europe working at Geranium and Noma in Copenhagen, and Bros' in Lecce as well as experience closer to home within the Grossi Group here in Melbourne.
We offer the potential for growth and constant progress within the group while maintaining a great work and life balance with a four-day work week. Easily accessible via public transport, being 50m from the #11 tram line.

Candidates should demonstrate:
- A knowledge and understanding of Italian cuisine
- Experience in inventory management and stocktaking
- Experience in managing kitchen staff
- A good understanding of cost control and overall financial performance of a kitchen
- Strong work ethic
- Positive energy
- The ability to work well in a team
- Interest in local produce driven cooking
