The Role: Sous Chef
This exclusive catering contract is for a prestigious First Class and Business Class operation based at Melbourne International Airport. Sous chef, together with the head chef, will look after both production and the lounge kitchen, supporting line chefs with hands on approach.
- Able to deliver high quality foods and services whilst following and enforcing food safety standards, policies and procedures
- All food preparation whilst adhering to food presentation standards by TWG and Singapore Airlines
- Maintaining clean, safe and hygienic work practices
- Work closely in supporting head chef in day to day operation, staff development & training as well as involvement on seasonal menu planning.
- Overseeing the lounge and production kitchen operations
- Good knowledge of both Asian and Western food production
- Knowledge in other ethnic culinary disciplines are of advantage
- Monitor feedback and ensure a consistency of food quality
- Supervise, train and support kitchen team members to achieve good performance standards
- Able to spot and resolve problems efficiently
About You:
- Adventurous, creative and passionate about food!
- Supportive team player with excellent communication skill
- Experienced in catering, including fast pace restaurant, corporate or hotel with hands-on mindset and good organization skills
- Solid understanding of WH&S and Food Safety practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills including grooming, presentation and professional communication towards the client and guests
- Proven ability in kitchen operations, including planning, ordering and other
administrative tasks - Ability to lead a diverse team, develop and promote a positive working
environment. - Knowledge on basic PC work, Microsoft Word, Excel and other application
