As our Sous Chef in Sokyo, reporting to the Executive Chef Daniel Kwak, you will be a natural leader in the kitchen and bring the best out of your team.   

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will take good care of our guests ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen is consistent and delicious.

A few of your responsibilities:

• Be accountable for leading all aspects of team management and daily kitchen activities
• Participate in menu preparation and pricing policies
• Develop training plans and conduct on-the-job training sessions
• Ensure an open line of communication between the team, management and guests.
• Mentoring our team to retain talent in the business.

What are we looking for:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef and relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Knowledge of a variety of Japanese cooking styles
• Experience managing a lively and fast-paced team
• Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Full working rights to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week
