About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and motivated Speech Pathologist (Grade 3) to join our team. This is an Ongoing Full-Time position, but applicants seeking 0.8 FTE will be considered. You will work within a supportive Speech Pathology team and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to managing complex paediatric inpatients and outpatients with swallowing and communication disorders. This position services several specialist caseloads--please call the Speech Pathology Manager to discuss this in more detail. A significant part of this role involves teaching, supervision, and service improvement and development. Caseloads are shared with other Speech Pathology team members, and some caseload flexibility and cover is required within the team by all staff.
Classification for this position will range from VW6-VW9 Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 4 (FTE base salary per annum $102,091 - $116,646 plus superannuation).
What you’ll achieve:
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based speech pathology services to in/outpatients
- Provide clinical and professional leadership within the Speech Pathology team in collaboration with other seniors and the Speech Pathology Manager
- Lead clinical improvement projects and promote a culture of evidence-based practise and an understanding of research principles and practise
- Work effectively and flexibly within teams demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills
- Act in a professional and ethical manner
Your skills and experience:
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Extensive experience in the provision of speech pathology services to children with communication and swallowing disorders
- Experience in supervision, service development and leadership
- Research and evaluation skills

About the Speech Pathology Department
We provide services to both inpatient and outpatient paediatric populations in the areas of eating, drinking and swallowing, speech, language, voice, cleft palate, and tracheostomy.
