DUSA stands for Deakin University Student Association and is the student voice at the university and in the broader community. As an independent non-profit, we support all students that study on and off campus and aim to enhance the student experience at Deakin through a number of our programs.
The Sport Engagement Lead is a pivotal role within the Student Engagement Department at DUSA which leads, contributes and influences sport at a university level. You will have an opportunity to not only drive Sport Engagement at a local level but champion the students who compete at university games.
This role collaborates with the Sport Engagement Coordinator to ensure the successful delivery, framework, incident response and ongoing development of the Deakin University representative sport programs – Come & Try, Intervarsity & Uni Sport Australia events.
This exciting and challenging role will combine your passion for sport and mentoring students to be their best with an opportunity to undertake a pivotal role in raising the profile of sport within the University community.
More specifically your role will:
- Liaise with key stakeholders and drive student led involvement in sporting opportunities within Deakin University.
- Lead the positioning and engagement through the Deakin Dragons representative sports brand within the University setting.
- Lead the implementation and evaluation of sporting initiatives, events, and activities that contribute to the DUSA Sport Development Pathway.
- Work with Student Engagement Manager to develop strategy for advancing participation in DUSA Sport programs across Deakin University.

As a successful candidate you will possess:
- A tertiary qualification preferably in sports management.
- 5 years' experience in a sports management or admin role.
- Unwavering passion for sport and delivering sports programs.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to work with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Full drivers licence.
