Your Opportunity
We seek a very experienced and proactive Transport Manager to lead and elevate our Victorian operations. As a hands-on transport professional, you can showcase your expertise and significantly impact our success.
This role requires oversight of all aspects of transport, including the management of a small team and the state budget.
Your Skills and Attributes
You will have a strong transport skill set. You will also have a well-established network within the industry. To be considered for this pivotal role, you should possess the following qualifications and traits:
- Proven Track Record: At least five years of demonstrated experience in operations and management within the road transport industry.
- Regulatory Expertise: Excellent knowledge of OH&S, NHVAS, COR, and other relevant regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
- Highly Organized: Be self-driven, reliable, and exceptionally well-organized with a knack for adapting and multitasking to meet critical deadlines.
- Forward-Thinking Problem Solver: Show logical intelligence and foresight in resolving daily challenges and anticipating future issues.
- Licenses and Skills: Hold a valid Driver's License and forklift License (with the ability to load and unload comfortably if/when required), and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech Savvy: Demonstrate good computer skills and MS Office and MYOB competence.
Your Responsibilities
In this influential role, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Seamless Operations: Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations for all road transport configurations, including local, intrastate, and interstate deliveries. Plan and schedule daily activities efficiently and effectively.
- Compliance and Standards: Stay updated on Company policies, standards, procedures, and relevant Road/Heavy Vehicle Legislation and industry codes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with customers, operational staff in other depots, administration personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate contractor operations in line with legislative requirements.
- Exceeding Customer Expectations: Provide industry-leading customer service and follow-up to maintain our reputation for excellence.
- Data Analysis: Ensure timely and accurate data entry and analysis in our fleet operations and accounting management systems.
- Maintenance Coordination: Plan and coordinate servicing and maintenance activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of operations.
- People Management: Lead and develop existing employees, fostering growth and ensuring effective succession planning.
- Reporting: Prepare 1/2 Yearly Branch Reports to keep stakeholders informed.
