The Role
Join our award winning Planning and Economic Development team and embark on a fulfilling career journey as a Strategic Planner with the Town of Port Hedland, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our community.
- Develop, deliver, and manage key projects
- Build extensive knowledge on Mining and Environmental Legislation
- Work on local housing strategy, precinct structure and design guidelines
- Be a key player in developing the future vision for Hedland
Reporting to the Manager of Planning & Economic Development, you will work closely with the Senior Strategic Planner on critical initiatives, including but not limited to Spoilbank Marina Masterplan implementation, Public Open Space Strategy Review, Local Housing Strategy, West End/South Hedland Precinct Planning, and the development of Strategic Indigenous Land Use Agreement.
In this role you will have the opportunity to showcase your exceptional communication, organisational, and time management skills, coupled with conflict resolution expertise. With demonstrated ability to deliver high-level work with meticulous attention to detail, you will be responsible for supervising consultants, and navigating successful project development.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Bachelors Degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Economic Development, Architecture, Urban Design, Project Management or equivalent experience.
- White Card (or willing to obtain)
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
