Work within a team responsible for the creation and implementation of a Strength and Conditioning framework, philosophy and programme to be delivered across all sports within the College.
This full time position is initially a fixed term opportunity until December 2024 with the possibility of extension. The role offers generous employee benefits and diverse development opportunities.
You will assist with
- Designing and implementation age-appropriate training programmes for students and staff within the College.
- Supervising the Fitness Centre to all clients during rostered hours, including the ability to lead small group fitness or training sessions, as required.
- Providing evidence-based feedback to student clients during coaching and supervision sessions
- Coordinating the maintenance and management of equipment supplies including ensuring secure storage, efficient procurement and journal management of equipment allocations and returns.
- Preparing attendance records, purchase orders and equipment maintenance records in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Ensuring environments and activities conform with workplace health and safety regulations and issue safety instructions as appropriate.
- Maintaining working relationships through effective regular communication with all students, staff, parents and other relevant stakeholders.
- Promoting sports and facilities usage within the College community.
- Participation in continuous improvement activities through professional development opportunities and actively maintaining relevant ‘current know’ evolving practices, rules, techniques and developments.
You will bring
- Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in the design and implementation of age-appropriate Strength and Conditioning frameworks across various sports, ideally within a school setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of the ASCA Position Stand on Child and Youth Resistance Training.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Level 1 certification. ASCA Level 2 well regarded.
- Current Working with Children Blue Card, First Aid and CPR certification and current Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated digital literacy, attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate well with students and an enthusiasm to develop student and client abilities.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, adaptability and a commitment to Programme delivery.
- Physical fitness including the ability to be involved in sport, work at a desk, standing duties and perform manual handling tasks such as bending and lifting.
