Safemaster are seeking a skilled Structural Engineering Technologist with expertise in Aluminium structures to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Structural Analysis and Design according to Australian Standards, utilizing spreadsheet tools or Finite Element software packages, with proficiency in SpaceGass or Abaqus preferred. This role involves preparing comprehensive engineering designs and technical documents based on new project concepts, architectural, and mechanical specifications. A minimum Bachelor in Civil or Structural engineering is required, as well as at least 2 years' experience in a similar role. Experience with Prince 2 or PMP can be added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Perform Structural Analysis and Design of Aluminium structures according to Australian Standards using spreadsheet or software package. SpaceGass or Abaqus preferred.
- Preparing engineering design and technical documents based on the new project concepts, architectural and mechanical specifications.
- Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying existing as-built reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs.
- Research and stay updated on new technologies related to Height Safety Systems.
- Perform experiments to develop and test products under real-world conditions, collecting valuable performance data.
- Produce technical reports and presentations for clients or employers.
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis for designing and improving Aluminium products.
- Evaluate materials (aluminium), conducting tests to determine physical and chemical properties.
- Creates feasibility study by analysing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
- Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
- Liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors, builders, architects, and project managers throughout project phases.
- Assisting Project Manager on various tasks as required. E. g. determining project costs, managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.
- Implement and adhere to documented Management Systems complying with ISO 9001, AS/NZS 4801 & ISO 14001.
- Ensure the production of Safe Height Safety Systems in accordance with Australian Standards and O.H.S.
- Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results and producing detailed working drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
