About your new role
At City of Gold Coast, we consider our landfills as valuable community assets and seek to maximise the life of these facilities through sound landfill management practices, with a strong focus on compliance.
Our Landfill Group is responsible for two active landfill sites and maintains six closed facilities. You will lead a small maintenance team, deliver minor site projects, run external contract works, be responsible for the day-to-day management of the closed landfill facilities and liaise with other City Departments and external stakeholders. You will also liaise with the contractor operating the two active landfills.

What you bring to your new role
You will have a passion for waste management, with previous landfill experience gained within a multi-disciplinary environment. You can demonstrate an ability to lead, develop and motivate staff and create procedures relevant to the role. You are outcome driven, focussed on solutions and continuous improvement, with demonstrated project management skills, financial awareness and environmental and WHS compliance.
