The SOSL will be based in Port Kennedy and will work as part of a collaborative team of Teachers and Speech Pathologists.  PLDS and SSLS provides support to mainstream schools within the South Metropolitan, Southwest and East Kimberley regions. Suitable applicants should have a genuine interest in the school community and our PLDS Business Plan.

The team travels regularly within our service region. These trips are planned in advance and team members’ availabilities are taken into consideration as much as possible. A flexible approach to working is important as travel may involve overnight stays. Therefore, a current Driver’s Licence and registered vehicle are essential.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to speech, language and learning outcomes.
  • Ability to develop, implement, monitor and review the delivery of professional support in language and literacy development.

Applications will be assessed against these work related requirements (selection criteria) of the position. The business needs of the school may also be considered.
