The Role:
As a Support Services Accountant, will effectively assist the day-to-day accounting and admin functions of Martinus Support Departments.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage the accuracy and quality of financial and qualitive data in the respective business units through rigorous accounting processes, and ensure reporting and analysis is performed in a timely manner.
- Preparing month-end reporting for management of various business units (Corporate, Growth, BD, Resources, IT, Haulage and Infrapay, HSES, Major Projects, and Aldridge)
- Monitoring financial information within the respective business units
- Recording financial transactions in accounting software or spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures (including journals and support documentation, accruals, reclass, and timesheet allocation)
- Supporting corporate month-end, half-year, and year-end closing process.
- Assisting year-end audit process with external auditors
- Assisting in the monthly and quarterly reconciliation of GL accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Raising POs, Goods Receipting, and customer invoices
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Engaging with respective Head of BUs in preparation and monitoring budget variances monthly
- Cashflow forecast for the respective Bus.
- Other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce or a related field.
- At least 4 years of work experience in accounting
- Previous work experience in a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Construction/Infrastructure industry experience (Desirable)
