About the OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting opportunity for a
Support Systems Delivery Manager to join our Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) program based at either our Bourke Street, Melbourne office or Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia.Reporting to the HCF Throughlife Support Director, this role will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure they are fully engaged and aware of the ILS strategy plans, products and service offerings. Additionally, the successful applicant will also work closely with the Commonwealth to support their understanding of the developed and delivered products.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:- Establishing, leading and managing the Support Systems Product Domains, including: Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD), Availability Reliability and Maintainability (ARM), Supply Support, Training and Technical Publications.
- Lead consolidation and analysis of the actual costs and achieved schedule on a monthly basis, anticipate and resolve potential future cost and schedule variations
- Lead the development of logistics support strategies to meet system and support requirements including the design and continuous optimisation of the operational support system.
- Ensure that the Support System implications off evolving design changes including their impact on the product life cycle logistics are understood
- Assist the Support Systems Program in the identification, development, update and implementation of state of the art integrated system methodologies, processes, procedures and instructions as required.
- Lead the management and identification of Risks and Opportunities for the work being performed
- Effectively mentor, lead and develop all Support System Delivery personnel.
- Review and lead continuous improvement to processes on an ongoing basis.
- Be able to travel both domestically and internationally to support both the Project and ILS strategic outcomes.
About YOU- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management (desirable)
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the local defence sector
- Experience building collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including customers
- Experience in the development and delivery of systems/ products that are complex in nature
- Ability to articulate strategy/ purpose and link to objectives and project deliverables
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Current NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
