Support Worker Role - Supported Independent Living (SIL)

- Ability to work a 24/7 roster in supported accommodation including weekends, sleepovers, and awake shifts.
- Significant experience in supporting people with behaviors of concern and an understanding of Restrictive Practices.
- Confident in supporting participants in the community whilst maintaining participants' safety at all times.
- High level of English communication skills, both written & verbal, with experience using Augmented Communication Aids.
- Proactive, energetic, and flexible support of participants. Willing to assist participants with daily community access. Including but not limited to; attending the gym, swimming, aerobics, walks within the community, attending sports events, movies, and meals out. The role does require a degree of fitness.
- Constructive communication skills with a focus on teamwork.
- An understanding of NDIS person-centered supports and the ability to follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Current QLD driving license.
- Current First Aid Certificate/CPR or willing to obtain.
- Current Positive Notice Blue card - Working With Children
- Current NDIS worker screening (Yellow card)
- Current National Criminal History Screening checks or willing to obtain.
- Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office/Outlook/Teams
- Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support or equivalent/relative industry experience
