System Engineer - Hybrid, Sql Server, Vmware & More!

Flexible environment, with work-from-home avaiilable and option for a 9-day fortnight. 
Some travel is possible in the case of major issues, so a car & licence is preferred. 

The Role

Troubleshooting & resolving issues, working on releases, system upgrades & maintenance as well as working on projects, this is an exciting opportunity to work both independently & as part of a team. 
Covering a wide range of technologies, the role is application focused, so you ideally need experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures & SQL functions, but not limited to VMWare, Storage & Infrastructure. 
Experience with a programming language is beneficial, but a great attitude and willingness to learn is a must have. 
As part of a team of 8-10, you will be liasing directly with the R&D Team as well as the Level 1 support team.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience as a System Engineer or similar, ideally with strong T-SQL, SQL Server and skills including virtualisation & Infrastructure 
• Experience with resolving support tickets and requests as an escalation point
• Skills & experience with performance tuning & query optimisation of stored procedures & queries is advantageous 
• Technical skills & experience including
  • MS Hyper-V, VMware, provisioning, configuring Windows Server 2012
  • Storage including SAN & vSAN, Veeam, NAS Backups 
  • Infrastructure: Deploying images, provisioning & installation of servers, racking & stacking etc.
• Beneficial, but not mandatory experience includes AD, Group Policy, RabbitMQ, API's, Docker, Web-App experience, PowerShell 
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team or independently
• Broad experience across SQL database, infrastructure, server virtualisation & networking
• MUST HAVE FULL WORK RIGHTS for work in Australia to be considered
• Tertiary Degree in IT or other relevant discipline 
• Industry Certifications, where relevant to the role/technology, are advantageous
