About the Role
The Corporate Services Team within Alexandrina Council are looking for a dynamic and innovative Systems Accountant/Finance professional to facilitate and coordinate the Council’s Technology One finance system. As a crucial member of the team, you will apply your expertise to deliver advice and assistance, working collaboratively between the Information Solutions and Financial Accounting teams, reporting to the Team Leader Strategic Financial Performance.
As the Systems Accountant, you will apply your analytical reasoning, paired with technical delivery to think creatively, troubleshoot and review module performance. While implementing your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to foster positive working relationships with the team. Facilitating the development and documentation of financial controls, processes, and workflows, you will be focused on the optimisation and integrity of the Council’s finance system, contributing to the overall operations of the Council and service to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Council's financial and budget systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with teams to diagnose and resolve system issues, providing continuous improvement recommendations.
- Support upgrades, testing, and offer training to the finance team.
- Analyse data for dashboards and reports, improving financial information preparation.
- Enhance month-end reporting, corporate planning, and financial management reporting.
- Benchmark dashboard practices against industry standards.
- Collaborate on asset adjustments, year end processes and contribute to financial modelling.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, legislation, and Council policies.
- Work proactively with the Team Leader to ensure coordinated financial services delivery.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor of Accounting/Business/or relevant discipline
- 3 years of experience in implementing, developing, and improving ERP systems, along with a strong knowledge of Australian financial legislation and controls
- Experience using Technology One’s CiAnywhere One Council financial accounting and budget modules
- Ability to apply analytical reasoning, with an attention to detail tailored to specific reporting and visual dashboard requirements.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and ability to positively influence others.
- Experience in preparing written and visual documentation, with proficiency using EPR systems and Microsoft Office Suite in a complex and asset intensive corporate environment.

- Salary: $102,927 - $109,411 + 11% superannuation
