The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Administrator to join our national IT team based in Melbourne; however, we are open to considering someone based in Sydney. The successful candidate will administer MO IT systems and infrastructure and provide support to a broad range of platforms including Pure Storage, VMware servers, Microsoft servers, Citrix remote access, Microsoft Azure and 365 services, and Active Directory. You will assist the Service Desk when calls are escalated and assist with incidents when required, supporting all sites and infrastructure nationally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support to staff and clients as required.
- Work directly with IT Management when designing and deploying new technology platforms.
- Perform application packaging and maintain the MO standard operating environment (SOE).
- Install, configure, and update server and network infrastructure.
- Deployment of new applications and patching across Windows and Linux operating systems
- Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current and relevant.
- Participate in annual disaster recovery testing and frequent updates to the firm’s DR Plan.
- Assist with defining access privileges, control structure, and access to resources.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures and take a proactive approach to maintaining strong cyber security.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will possess excellent attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
We are looking for a team player with strong technical skills and valid work experience in the following areas:
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively.
- Experience troubleshooting server, desktop, system, network issues.
- Proven experience managing a Hybrid Active Directory environment.
- Experience with Windows Server, Exchange, VMware, SCCM, Intune, and SAN Storage.
- Experience administering on premises and Citrix cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.
- Relevant certifications in Citrix, Microsoft or VMware highly regarded.
- Experience managing Windows Defender Application Control and newer Microsoft technologies is highly regarded.
