QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State. Purpose of Role
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for data-driven insights? Look no further! We’re seeking a Systems, Data and Reporting Lead to join our team.
As a key member of our Finance Team, your mission will be to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, providing valuable insights through management reporting. Additionally, you’ll drive enhancements in our finance systems, streamline processes, and create robust reports to meet both internal and external requirements.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
System
- Establish a roadmap to set the direction for efficient and effective use of the finance system
- Ensure DXC deliver managed support as contracted allowing efficient use of the finance system
- Work with DXC and Microsoft developers to address system issues or limitations
- Work with VMP to maintain vendor account plan, assess and provide performance feedback to DXC through established forums
- Build knowledge and relationships with external parties, including Microsoft Relationship Manager, to identify on how F365 can be used effectively
- Identify and implement improvements in various finance systems
- Identify improvements and automation opportunities that drive efficiencies in finance processes and workflows
- Identify workflows to improve Internal controls on finance processes
Data
- Maintain the mapping of data from Findur to ensure it is complete and accurate, and supports our reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve the Finance dataset to enhance reporting
Reporting
- Maintain the chart of accounts and reporting codes to the QTC organisational structure and reporting requirements
- Develop reporting to meet the needs of external and internal stakeholders
- Manage the end of month process,
- Support the preparation of the monthly Board report, updating the reporting model to meet the Board requirements and provide analysis & insight into performance and financial position.
- Develop reports to support Business Partners engage with teams, groups, divisions, budget, forecasting, Actual to Budget, open purchase orders.
- Develop a monthly report of performance by division to be submitted and presented to SLT/ELT
- Develop process and reports to allow for Budget Adjustments within, across divisions and additional expenditure approvals from the Board.
- Identify reporting which would provide insight to internal stakeholders.
Initiatives
- Implement the recommendations of the GST apportionment review, implementing the annual review, updating and maintaining within the finance system
- Adhoc Management Reporting
- Manage initiatives through Change Governance
Financial Reporting
- Complete statutory reporting requirements for QTC (Capital Markets Operations and State Investment Operation Segments)
- Completion of Tridata and WOG /State Finances reporting / Complete reporting requirements to Queensland Treasury (Tridata).
