About the role
As part of the Group Tax team, you will play a core role in supporting Ampol to meet its Australian income tax compliance and reporting obligations.

Key responsibilities:
Key contributor to the preparation of the consolidated tax return for the Ampol Ltd Tax Consolidated Group and other group entities.
Key contributor to Ampol’s tax reporting, including preparation of income tax provision calculations, Taxes Paid Reporting and/or CbC Reporting
Assist with the provision of effective and timely tax advice to the Ampol business
Assist with the preparation of responses to requests for information received from the ATO as part of the ATO’s Justified Trust program
Support the Group Tax team by taking on a back-up role across other tax and reporting matters (such as FBT, GST and excise)
Contribute to the achievement of Group Tax strategies by participating in Group Tax projects and improvements
About you
The successful candidate will have great technical, analytical and communication skills to utilise when undertaking compliance activities and providing tax advice which demonstrates an understanding of the business’s commercial strategic objectives. Recent hands-on income tax experience is essential. The position would suit a candidate from a professional services firm looking to make their first move into a corporate role.
Key skills and experience:
Relevant Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Law
Extensive experience in a tax based role in a large organisation, CA or legal firm
Current experience in income tax and the ability to apply this knowledge to provide commercial tax options to Ampol
Strong communication, technical and analytical skills
