The Opportunity:
There is a need for an experienced Tax and Business Services Accountant to join our team working from our The Gap (Brisbane) office.
Using your existing skillset, we see this role as comprising of four core functions:
- Being directly responsible for the ongoing relationships and completion of work from an allocated book of clients
- Preparation of annual accounts, tax returns for business entities and client groups
- Peer review of annual accounts, tax returns, activity statements for business entities and client groups
- Researching and correctly applying (noting that we do have in-house taxation and superannuation specialists to support you) tax requirements in line with legislation and industry expectations – such as Division 7A and Section 100A requirement.
Working from our The Gap office, the successful candidate will have a hard-working attitude, possesses a strong attention to detail, has exceptional communication skills, takes pride in their work, and loves adding value to clients using their professional skillset.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of four years’ experience in Tax/Business Service Accounting
- Comprehensive knowledge of producing and reviewing small/medium business annual financial statements, taxation returns and fringe benefit tax requirements.
- Knowledge working with various entities and corporate structures
- Be comfortable speaking with clients and internal colleagues
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- You will have a self-motivated, can-do attitude and an ability to take initiative.
Desirable Skills/Attributes:
- Experience using Xero
- CA/CPA/IPA Qualified or studying towards
- Comprehensive knowledge of Division 7A requirements and applications
- Experience in QBCC reporting and associated obligations
