This is a three (3) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024.
Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their team.
The role focuses on developing students’ skills in the use of Design process, and the application of drawing software to Design and produce projects using a variety of materials. The successful applicant will ideally have experience planning and teaching in one or more of the following contexts: Years 11 and 12 Materials Design and Years 7-10 general Digital and/or Design technologies.
You will ideally be dedicated, highly competent and an enthusiastic teacher, who is passionate about education and the opportunities it provides for young people. You should ideally have high expectations and display a commitment to excellence. The capability to use a range of pedagogies; ability to provide differentiated learning opportunities; and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment will be highly desirable.
As part of standard practice, the successful applicant will ideally be able to reflect on and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practices, using a variety of methods and apply that knowledge to catering for different student learning needs. Being student focused and collaborative, the ideal applicant should display positive learning outcomes for students across Years 7 to 12 and an ability to provide relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum.
Kelmscott SHS is a school of opportunity for students. The school offers Department of Education endorsed Specialist Programs in Agriculture and Music, Gifted & Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Program and a range of Kelmscott Extension Programs (KEP) in Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities & Social Sciences. We are only one of two schools to provide Gifted & Talented online to rural areas.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
