We are looking for professional, caring teachers and tutors who have a passion for supporting learners in becoming enthusiastic readers and writers or mathematicians. The work can be designed around one to four evenings a week, teaching for 2-4 hour periods.
ARRENDELL Education provides extension courses for high achieving students who are keen to further develop their skills in English or Mathematics, as well as tuition for students who are experiencing difficulty or lacking confidence.
The Centre also specialises in preparing students for the selective school, scholarship and OC exams.

Background Information
ARRENDELL Education was established by Gwenda Sanderson in 1977 with the provision of services from her home in Adamstown Heights. ARRENDELL Education has since moved into new state of the art facilities at Charlestown. 250 students attend weekly and there is a PT staff of approximately 15+.
Interestingly, ARRRENDELL Education has inspired, tutored and mentored many tens of thousands of primary and secondary Newcastle students, paving the way for their future success.
Professional Responsibilities
- Teaching group or individual lessons
- Introducing students to well written books and authors
- Developing student's writing and advanced thinking skills
- Preparing students to become outstanding mathematicians
- Providing feedback to parents
Essential Criteria
- Engaging personality and rapport with students, parents and colleagues.
- Appropriate degree, teaching diploma or registration are essential.
- Significant experience in Australia in teaching English or mathematics.
- Teaching experience in NSW and familiarity with the National / NSW Curriculum requirements.
- Reliable and available consistently for either 1, 2, 3 or 4 after school sessions.
