Canning Vale College are seeking to appoint an innovative and dedicated Teacher - Learning Support Coordinator who is engaging and can motivate staff and students, whilst supporting the School’s priorities and business plan. The Teacher - Learning Support Coordinator supports staff to plan, deliver, monitor, assess and evaluate differentiated teaching and learning programs that meet the educational needs of students with disabilities and learning difficulties. They consult, support and collaborate with staff, parents and outside agencies to build the capacity of staff and enable the school to become more inclusive of students with diverse learning needs.
The successful applicant will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal applicant will work under general supervision or autonomously and would be required to contribute advice and expertise, collaborating with school community members to support student achievement. The Teacher - Learning Support should show a commitment to enhancing students’ learning opportunities through ongoing reflective classroom practice as well as commitment to planning and engaging in professional learning opportunities, including collaboration with colleagues. There is a possibility that this position could include a teaching load in the future depending upon the needs of the College. You should show a willingness to contribute and maintain a team environment.
As the Learning Support Coordinator you will:
- Oversee the organisation of National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) and run the testing sessions.
- Have the ability to set up and provide support to staff with Special Education Needs (SEN) reporting and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Coordinate visiting therapists and other external agencies supporting students within the mainstream.
- Managing and ensuring compliance with Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) in mainstream.
- Work closely with the Level 3 HUB Program Coordinator, Student Engagement and Support and the Associate Principals around organising and managing Disability Resourcing for students
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
