Team Lead – Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

Where the team fits in
The Team Lead – Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable sits within the Finance Operations team. The Finance Operations team consists of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payment Solutions working together to ensure the accurate processing, recording, collection, and management of transactions for the Australian business.
The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of the REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Workplace Experience & Procurement, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Communications.
This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the 'behind the scenes' of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.
What the role is all about
Leads the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams, fostering a supportive, inclusive & productive culture.
Being a hands-on leader to assist the team when needed
Creates specific, measurable and achievable metrics for the team to strive towards
Measures and coaches the team to improve productivity, efficiency and quality
Liaises closely and communicates clearly with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of business processes, tasks and timelines
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Identifies optimisation opportunities and works with the team and stakeholders to improve processes
Manages team compliance against SOX controls
Owns the reporting responsibilities for the team, including creating monthly scorecard reporting
Collaborates on project work and driving process efficiencies
Who we’re looking for
Significant experience in Team Leadership, including experience with change management
Previous relevant experience in Finance Operation support roles (ideally both AR & AP), preferably in a corporate environment
Ability to effectively communicate & collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
Effective problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude
Continuous process improvement skills and experience
Great eye for detail, and the ability to think outside the box
Experience using Netsuite and Zendesk is not essential, although this would be an advantage
Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment
