A bit about the role

The Team Leader Communications and Marketing will be responsible for driving engaging, effective and strategic communications through Council’s communication channels, which positively influence the reputationof the City of Casey.

You will work closely with stakeholders to determine the Communications and Marketing needs of the community, events, performances and exhibitions and develop appropriate marketing strategies to ensure success.

What you’ll deliver

• Lead, develop, and support the Communications and Marketing team by setting clear role expectations, monitoring performance, offering timely feedback, facilitating employee development, and providing professional growth opportunities to foster teamwork and customer service excellence.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Communications and Marketing team including media relations, issues management and strategic communications.
• Deliver communications programs that build the City of Casey’s brand, reputation and value proposition and position the organisation as an employer of choice and a leader in communications.
• Oversee the brand, marketing and reputation of Bunjil Place as a destination and  the home of arts and entertainment in the City of Casey.
• Provide advice to staff on communications collateral including content, structure, format, production, distribution and evaluation.
• Manage a suite of marketing channels including publications, media and digital communications.
• Oversee the development of innovative and engaging marketing and promotional strategies to encourage audience development, promote Council facilities and their product offerings and ensure continued success in terms of visitation numbers and ticket sales.

What you’ll bring

• A degree or diploma in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields, with several years of experience; or higher qualifications with less experience; or significant relevant experience with lesser formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing effective written communications for a broad range of stakeholders and across various communication channels.
• Proven ability to thoroughly proofread material and manage approvals with a high degree of accuracy.
• Extensive experience in developing, delivering and the overall management and optimisation of brand and Marketing projects.
• Experience in managing multiple communication projects simultaneously and delivering on deadlines to achieve the desired outcomes.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
