Australia’s most recommended bank is looking for an experienced Team Leader – Mortgage Services to join our growing Lending Operations Team. Working as part of the Mortgage Operations Leadership team, you’ll be an active contributor to delivering on the agreed strategic objectives of Mortgage Operations.
ING Lending Operations is a supportive and dynamic team delivering innovative financial lending products which are at the forefront of digital banking in Australia. We operate in the Consumer, Residential and Commercial markets.
As a Team Leader, you’ll coach, mentor and develop our Mortgage Services Operations Officers as they prepare and validate Residential home loan applications for both new and existing customers in readiness for the Credit Assessment team. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Mortgage Services team, embedding a high-performance culture and delivering market leading service to our brokers and customers.

What you’ll do
- Lead an operational Application Capture team including developing and maintaining a high-performance culture (up to 17 staff).
- Act as a subject matter expert for Application Capture and other supporting tasks for Residential Mortgages. This involves implementing clear procedures, working with internal business stakeholders to identify, prioritise and implement improvements and ultimately drive market leading customer service, safe and efficient processes.
- Support the development and building of multi process capabilities within our Mortgage Services Teams.
- Support and provide Subject Matter expertise for process reviews and projects across ING.
- Operate within the ING service delivery guidelines to ensure that all credit applications are completed within the deadlines as set to meet optimal business outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Strong Team Leadership experience, preferably of a team with a similar size.
- Proven experience in Residential Mortgage Lending processes, ideally with a sound understanding of operations.
- Exposure to automation and innovation projects within mortgages will be highly regarded.
- Awareness of Operational Risk Management.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to confidently liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent working knowledge of all relevant banking legislative and privacy regulations
- Sound experience in the use of multiple IT Platforms and multi-tasking capabilities.
