About your new role:
As part of the Environment and Heritage Branch, the Natural Areas Conservation (NAC) business unit oversees the daily management and showcasing of a 13,000-hectare estate containing significant and diverse biological values. Our team is dedicated to protecting and enhancing conservation reserves spanning from the McPherson Range to Southern Moreton Bay.
Your role will lead NAC's Restoration team to ensure the continuous delivery of best practice and innovative ecological restoration for the city. The team, which consists of ecological restoration professionals and staff responsible for running the City's NaturallyGC program, is high performing and diverse. Your responsibilities will include managing the team's workflow, projects, contracts, and budgets effectively.

What you bring to your new role:
We are seeking a dynamic individual with a proven track record in successfully leading large and diverse teams in conservation and land management. Your expertise in leadership, communication, ecological restoration, strategic planning, budget management, and reporting will be instrumental in achieving successful outcomes. You should possess superior project and program management skills, along with the ability to navigate and communicate complex issues and allocate resources effectively.
As an experienced ecologist and/or conservation land manager, you should have extensive expertise in ecological restoration, revegetation projects, biodiversity offsets, GIS/mapping, ecological monitoring, and community engagement. Your analytical acumen and problem-solving skills should be complemented by exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
You should demonstrate a strong commitment to the safety of your team, particularly in remote areas of the city, by providing a secure and supportive work environment.
