About the Service
Centrecare in partnership with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation and Lamp, Inc provide Stronger Together, Intensive Family Support Services. Stronger together is a targeted early intervention service which has the overarching outcome of children living in safe, stable, and nurturing environments, supporting them to achieve good life outcomes and supporting families to keep children safely at home.
This service provides intensive, in-home support to families who are most at risk of child protection intervention or families who require support to reunify children back to their care. Stronger Together works holistically with families and the Department of Communities – Child Protection and Family Support, to reduce child protection concerns in the family home utilising a culturally appropriate, strength-based approach.
About the role
Based out of our Midland branch, the Team Leader position is to oversee, guide and support the delivery of the Stronger Together, Intensive Family Support Services program. By providing the team with practical support and direction, you will ensure high-quality delivery of the program where the focus is to have children living in safe, stable nurturing environments.
We are looking for someone who has passion for their work and is dedicated in supporting staff and clients as well as engaging in the Aboriginal community. The ideal applicant will have a therapeutic and evidence-based practice approach, experience working with a range of client issues and experience supervising employees.
A Few Specifics
- Team Leader for up to 10 staff
- Supporting staff by advising on complex cases
- Supporting staff to liaise with the Department of Communities and partner agencies
- Regular management supervision with staff and group case management reviews
- Reporting, reviewing statistics, contribute to management board reports
- Monthly management supervision with staff and group case management reviews
- Networking with stakeholders, liaising with program stakeholders and attending relevant funding body meetings
- Training staff on internal processes
- Providing on call support for our Out of Home care team where required
Selection Criteria(must be addressed and submitted with the application)
- Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling and/or related disciplines.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and external standards in relation to Child Protection.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve positive community outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience providing intensive, in-home support to children, young people and families.
- Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
- An understanding of culturally appropriate, strength-based approaches to client services.
- Experience providing management supervision and leading group case management.
- Networking with stakeholders, liaising with program stakeholders and attending relevant funding body meetings.
- Ability to lead and work within a multiagency, multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday.
- Hold a current driver’s license.
- Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months).
- A Current Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one.
