- To effectively develop and implement the Destination Management Plan and all its associated activities, including the management of the Visitor Information Centre (VIC).
- To improve tourisms' contribution to the growth and development of Albury's economy.
- To maximise the returns on Councils investment in tourism marketing and promotion through increased tourism visitation, length of stay and spend.
SERVICES TO BE MANAGED
The position will be responsible for managing the following services:
- Visitor Information Centre
- Visit AlburyWodonga website
- Destination Management Plan
- Tourism Partner meetings
- Tourism Attraction, Development and Promotion

Qualifications & experience
- Degree in Business, Tourism, Economics or Marketing and/or demonstrated relevant experience in the field
- Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have & maintain)
- Experience in tourism or tourism related product marketing and promotion
- Experience or knowledge of Local Government or similar authority
- Implement relevant initiatives identified in Albury Wodonga’s Destination Management Plan and lead its review to ensure its effort is strategically paced and targeted.
- Manage and deliver the Tourism Partnership (Service) Agreement between AlburyCity and City of Wodonga, ensuring professional and ethical management practices are employed to facilitate achievement of strategic objectives.
- Lead an effective and efficient team capable of delivering services to agreed levels and standards
- Build and maintain relationships with industry groups/organisations, key business leaders and relevant State and Federal Government agencies to maintain a sound understanding of Visitor Economy issues and opportunities
- Represent AlburyCity on relevant committees, working groups and at conferences
Based on a 35-hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.
