Digital Services Division (DSD) is responsible for enabling Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions and activities in the department. The division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes. DSD staff work collaboratively across the department, taking advantage of advances in technology, to deliver end-to-end services and solutions that are nationally consistent and deliver organisational and business benefits. As a trusted ICT adviser, DSD aims to strengthen its partnerships with other divisions through the provision of professional advice, innovative solutions and high quality, timely and reliable ICT services. DSD staff are experts in ICT operations, ICT project planning and delivery, ICT applications development and support, ICT security, ICT contracts and vendor management, web services, information, data and records management and ICT governance and strategy. The division also includes the Shared Services Centre which allows organisations to leverage established and emerging infrastructure and capabilities of another organisation providing cost savings, increased ICT buying power and common tools and services.
The Digital Enabling Services Branch provides the Digital Services Division with program management and assurance, business engagement, human resource services, financial management and reporting, in-house commercial services and assistance in governance and strategic communication matters. The branch is also responsible for the Shared Services Centre which governs the provision of ICT services to participating entities.

The Project Management Office is responsible for ensuring visibility, governance and assurance of IT-enabled projects. The area:
- provides assurance management services to the divisional executive through reporting and project tracking
- leading the development of standardised project management templates, tools and systems and championing there use.
- partners with ICT line areas to ensure financial management processes and standards are in place
- works closely with stakeholders to manage internal budget allocations and forecasts within a robust compliance framework to support resource management practices
- delivers reporting and analysis to support data-driven financial decision making.
- provides centralised recruitment support for the division
- delivers workforce design, entry level programs, recruitment, attraction and retention strategies, and targeted learning and development solutions.
- provides oversight of procurement and contract management functions in the division
- leads and undertakes procurement planning, tendering, contract formation and contract management activities
- establishes and reviews commercial arrangements and provides advice on the interpretation of contracts and contractual solutions.
- manages the ICT Cost Model (including toolset) and charging framework for the services provided to customers
- liaises with agencies to resolve issues relating to the services and charges they receive
- manages the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)s with the customer agencies and ongoing maintenance of the department’s Service Catalogue.
- establishes and maintains key internal and external relationships in order to understand and identify processes and improvement areas for ICT services
- facilitates workshops, engagement and communications with internal stakeholders
- conducts research and engages with networks, communities and groups to identify opportunities for collaboration.
- supports the executive’s participation in departmental and divisional governance committees, as required
- enables the smooth running of various committees, and ensures forward planning and tracking of cross-divisional commitments and activities
- leads the review and co-ordination of corporate and other division-wide documents and responses to ensure the division is properly recognised, described and meeting accountability requirements.
- provide effective and timely Corporate Support to the ICT division
- provide professional leadership in your area of expertise, enhancing the capability of a team
- use good judgement, expertise and knowledge to ensure decisions are governed by the application of regulations, best practice principles or the agency’s operating instructions and procedures
