About the role
The Team Manager leads our North Brisbane team to successfully deliver aged care services, operating within the Aged Care Quality Standards and creating practice excellence across our service delivery streams. The role is focused on supporting and developing our people and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.
What will this look like on a day to day basis?
You will be:
- Leading, coaching, supporting, motivating and developing team members to enable them to perform to the best of their ability
- Being a role model for effective and positive leadership which is ethical, results driven, client centric and future oriented
- Overseeing team member hours worked, approval of timesheets and leave management to ensure all relevant contract requirements, entitlements, and salary and award conditions are met
- Developing a high performing culture, committed to quality and outstanding service
- Providing regular 1 on 1's and feedback to team members including effectively managing under-performance or misconduct as required
- Holding team members accountable for Quality, Compliance and Health and Safety within their respective areas
- Contributing to workforce planning activities, providing performance and capability needs to support recruitment and roster management
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver training sessions to our frontline teams
- Identifying skill and capability gaps of team members and developing individual work plans to ensure professional competence

What skills and experience do you need to be a Team Manager?
- Leadership or management qualification (minimum diploma qualified);
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire and mentor others, build culture and drive engagement and retention strategies;
- Minimum 3 years people management experience including ability to manage employee performance;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and is relatable and engaging with emotional intelligence and the proven ability to foster relationships and connect with people; and
- Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness.
- Experience or qualification relevant to Aged Care Sector is desirable
