How will I help?
Online Share Trading is designed for self-directed investors seeking access to trade securities across a wide range of domestic and international markets. The Online Share Trading business is undertaking a period of transformation to better meet the needs of more Westpac customers.
The Business Analyst will play an integral and exciting role in the delivery of this exciting transformation.
You will also be responsible for:
- Capturing, documenting, and validating requirements with business sign off
- Work with business SMEs and other key stakeholders to effectively document current and future state functional, technical and data requirements
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Undertake gap analysis; determine current and future state processes and impacts to clients and business
- Writing procedures, processes and documentation for new systems and enhancements
- Interpreting customer needs and translating them into application and operation requirements.
- Ensure all necessary project documents and deliverables are completed and retained as required
- Supporting updates to the Online Share Trading value chain (processes and risk profile)
- Capture learnings and the Intellectual Property through Knowledge Management and reapplying these learnings for future projects

What do I need?
We are looking for a confident Technical Business Analyst with demonstrated experience in agile product delivery, stakeholder management and strong attention to detail. Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in an organic environment, knows how to collaborate to achieve desired outcomes and challenges the status quo to deliver great value to our customers and our business.
We'd love to hear from experienced Business Analysts, ideally familiar with wealth management, platforms or investments, together with:
- Demonstrated experience in Technical Business analysis in financial services
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to document functional/technical requirements including Epics and user stories
- Strong data integration, mapping, and data migration experience
- Strong ability to understand systems integrations and dependencies
- Experience with facilitating requirements and design workshops and assimilating information into tangible project deliverables
- Experience supporting development, testing teams, performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Implementation Verification (PIV) for releases
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders including Architects, Designers, Developers, Testers and vendor teams
- Experience finding effective solutions in complex environments
- Experience with SQL, Jira, Confluence and advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
