The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Officer – E&I to join our Operations and Maintenance team in Kurri Kurri NSW on a Permanent full-time basis. Please note that this role is subject to an on-call roster.
Reporting to the Team Leader you will play a key role in supporting our Operations and Maintenance teams across APA. This role forms an important part of the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake further training (funded by APA) to acquire the necessary instrumentation and control qualifications.
Plan, organise and implement routine and unscheduled maintenance for a variety of pipeline assets including but not limited to:
- compressor stations
- flow metres
- pressure reduction facilities
- water bath heaters
- gas cooling units
- scraper stations
Undertake technical analysis and evaluations on plant performance diagnosing solutions to reoccurring problems, recommending modifications and improvements on plant performance to avoid plant failure/ downtime, meeting customer requirements and APA reliability goals.
Undertake routine testing of cathodic protection levels on transmission pipelines in accordance with requirements.
Provide reliable data, plant histories and reports for analysis and review providing effective documentation for APA's programmed and corrective maintenance programs.
Develop and maintain effective, supportive and reliable communication and professional working relationship with field and office-based colleagues; and
Manage the onsite Permit to Work System in accordance with APA procedures.
Essential:
- Cert 3 Electro Technology
- 5 Years work experience in heavy industry
- A high degree of electrical aptitude and diagnostics
- A high degree of self-motivation.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good computer literacy skills.
Desirable
- Instrumentation & Control qualifications
- Gas, fuel or oil pipeline experience.
- Power Generation experience
- High voltage switching experience or qualifications.
- Hazardous area experience
- Industrial electric motor experience
- Cathodic protection experience
