The Technical Sales role predominately consists of:

  • specialise in the sales and promotion of technological products and services within the plastics sector.
  • develop and execute strategies to identify and cultivate prospective customers.
  • generate leads and compile a database of contacts.
  • Establishing the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products.
  • Explaining complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandable.
  • Preparing detail costings, quotations, and presentation of the proposed solution.
  • Following up with customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Keeping customers informed about new technological products.
  • Compiling proposals and reports related to technical products.
  • Ensuring that sales targets are consistently met.
  • Reporting to management about sales made.
  • Updating records of customer communications and contact information.
  • Skills/Experience:
    A Minimum Bachelor level relevant qualification or in the alternative at least 5 years of relevant sales or marketing experience within the plastics sector.
    Specific knowledge of:
  • Injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion
  • Gravimetric blender and blending systems
  • Gravimetric dosing and dosing systems
  • Central vacuum conveying and systems
  • Central desiccant and vacuum drying systems
  • System design and integration of an ancillary equipment from silo to machine inlet
  • Mould temperature controllers and chilled water systems
  • Technical knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of how the company products work.
     
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to identify and follow up on leads.
  • Exceptional skills in selling products and closing deals.
  • Knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
  • Excellent presentation skills and a professional appearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Technical Sales of ancillary products within plastics sector essential
  • Experience with ServiceM8, Word, Excel, MSD365 ERP, CRM, Field Service programs an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel extensively.
  • A high attention to detail an work ethic.
