Key responsibilities- Provide high level engineering expertise on asset management of transport infrastructure, including development of forward programs to optimise the return on investment in road and bridge maintenance and rehabilitation.- Manage and co-ordinate contract performance and construction practices by ensuring that efficient procedures are implemented, and best practice is achieved.- Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.- Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.- Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.- A current Class 'C' Drivers License.- Construction Industry 'White Card'.
