My Spirited Child is a small company located in Melbourne. It was founded to provide information, strategies and support to parents, carers and educators of neurodivergent children, as well adults who are neurodivergent as themselves. Currently, we are seeking a Trainee Events Manager to join our extraordinary team. The position is for someone who would like to kick off a career in Events Management and has experience working autonomously as you will need to work from the comfort of your own home. You will also be expected to travel interstate every month and will available for 30 hours a week.
The duties and responsibilities for the position are as follows:
- Book events – venue, flights, accommodation, and care hire
- Running the event – on the day, coordination, problem rectification and making sure the event runs smoothly
- PR/Advertising - FB event (creation, monitoring, posting), website (creations of pages for events, update/remove as needed), flyers/billboards/cinema ads (creation, booking and sending) and creation of images.
- Sourcing and coordinating speakers, volunteers, and speakers for all events
- Post events follow up with venue, speakers, exhibitors, ticket holders, and volunteers (inc. online events)
- Invoicing ticket holders and exhibitors
- Booking tickets as required
- Moving events online as required
- Running/moderating online events - setting up the link and refunding/cancelling as required
- Pre event reminders and updates as required for event attendees, ninjas, exhibitors, and speakers
- Will need some level of support and training from upper management with the aim to work independently in the future.
To be successful in the position you will need to have:
- the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- adequate computer literacy
- excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
- a high level of diligence
- the ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment
- the ability to communicate with a range of people
- CPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in training
- work rights in Australia or be eligible for such.
