Job description

Who are we?

IDEAcademy is ahead of the cultural and institutional curve for addressing the needs of society's next generation. We unshackle our world’s most important thinkers so they can get on with making it better. IDEA is an academy for young innovators, entrepreneurs, and creatives. We offer a full-time vocational alternative to secondary education for young people aged 15-21 years. At IDEA we support students to make a seamless transition to life beyond compulsory education with a portfolio of contemporary credentials that showcase each student's niche talents and potential. IDEA's fully immersive real-world program is delivered out of our co-learning hubs.

Are you our next unicorn?

Our next unicorn is a mission driven, out of the box thinker and committed to being a part of a team developing and delivering a new and innovative model of education and training. You will have significant experience in RTO management and/or RTO compliance, have solid organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail. Experience working at the junction of secondary education, vocational education and training (VET) and understanding of the learning needs of adolescents will put you as a front runner in the recruitment process.

You live our team values:

  • Care Deeply: You are committed to students and building a collaborative, caring culture. You work hard to help your students reach their highest potential. You are self-aware, empathetic, reflective, enthusiastic, and optimistic.
  • Mission to Mastery: You are a life-long learner, committed to continuous improvement and self-development to master your craft.
  • Adaptable: You challenge the status quo and seize opportunity. You adapt to the needs of learners as they emerge. You are a changemaker and a rebel at heart. You are willing to learn from failure, pivot, and try again.

Your Role

The Training and Compliance Manager plays a critical role in IDEA’s capacity to deliver compliant, quality vocational programs.

You will report directly to IDEA’s Executive and provide your expertise and specialised knowledge of RTO operational requirements whilst positively contributing to the IDEA culture. You are responsible for the leadership of all aspects of Training and Compliance at IDEA.

Why us?

IDEA is a fun, engaging and highly collaborative work environment that requires you to be flexible, adaptable and deeply passionate about changing the world one learning experience at a time.

Here is what it is like to work with us:

  • Work/Life Integration: We all have things outside of work that contribute to who we are; that’s why we champion work/life integration practices to empower you with the flexibility to work in a way that best works for you and for us including hybrid working, job share, part time arrangements and flexitime. Specifically, in addition to 4.5 weeks annual leave we offer flexibility to work in a hybrid way with 8 weeks of flexible ‘on call’ time to enjoy during the term breaks.
  • Professional Development: We believe in lifelong learning and facilitating our team to perform at their best through ongoing training & development and paid study opportunities throughout your IDEA journey.
  • Work and Play: We’re a social bunch with a big mission; community is everything to us and our team is based on competency, capability, culture and chemistry. We are unshakeable on our mission and celebrate success (and failing fast and getting back up again) at any chance through social events, team building and all staff co-design meetings to foster trust, transparency and collaboration.
