Job description

The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a talented and passionate Training Manager to work within the Human Resources team.

The Opportunity:
The Training Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective training programs and initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees within the project and ensures compliance for of every project participant to grant access. Will work closely with various stakeholders to identify training needs, design learning solutions, and evaluate training effectiveness.
The Training Manager will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in training methodologies, instructional design, and adult learning principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify training needs and skill gaps within the organization. Collaborate with department heads and key stakeholders to define training objectives and goals.
  • Competency Matrix Management and Update: Review current competency matrix and updates according to legislation and regulators requirements
  • Competency and Learning Management System: Implement, update and maintaining MTA-RIW System as our Competency and LMS
  • Learning Program Design: Design comprehensive and engaging training programs and initiatives, incorporating various learning methodologies such as instructor-led training, e-learning, simulations, and workshops. Ensure that training content aligns with project objectives and addresses identified training needs.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop training materials, including participant guides, facilitator guides, job aids, and multimedia content. Utilise instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create effective and interactive learning experiences.
  • Training Delivery: Deliver training sessions, both in-person and virtually, to individuals or groups of employees. Employ effective facilitation techniques to engage participants, promote knowledge retention, and encourage active participation.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Develop evaluation frameworks and assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Analyse training data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as department managers, subject matter experts, and RTOs to ensure training programs align with project objectives and reflect the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • Training Program Management: Oversee the coordination, scheduling, and logistics of training programs. Monitor training budgets, track training metrics, and generate reports to provide insights on program effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in training and development. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's overall learning culture.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Training & Assessment
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a training professional with expertise in instructional design, curriculum development and training delivery
  • Knowledge of Construction Civil and Rail Training requirements and regulations
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools, MTA-RIW preferrable. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
