We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Metro Academy Team as a dynamic Training Officer who specialises in Rail Safety.
Your role will be crucial in delivering clear and engaging training content while overseeing the assessment process, aligning with our business objectives, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations to support to Metro Academy training activities.
As the Training Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing training courseware and materials for MTM approved courses. Your expertise will be essential in customising the courseware for effective delivery to both MTM employees and external third-party contractors. Moreover, you will foster a positive and secure learning environment by establishing a supportive training relationship with learners.
We currently have both full-time 12-month maximum-term and Permanent opportunities available, providing you with an excellent opportunity to work and travel between South Kensington and Newport. Key Areas of Responsibility
As a Rail Safety Training Officer, you will;
- Deliver and assess accredited and non-accredited training to the internal and external stakeholders for the MTM business.
- Maintain existing and develop new courseware where necessary in line with business policy and procedures as well as Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards for the delivery of accredited and non-accredited training products.
- Deliver quality training programs in accordance with Australian Qualifications Framework and business standards.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with the Infrastructure and Projects divisions of MTM as well as third party contractors.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122 or the passion to acquire
- 6 months + Experience working within the rail corridor, performing Safeworking duties such “Lookout” as a minimum
- Competencies required to complete the duties of a Track Force Protection Coordinator TFPC 3.1, (TFPC 3.2 & TFPC 3.3 would be advantageous)
- Extensive experience in collaborating and coordinating activities in a regulated training environment
- A good understanding of the ASQA standards would be advantageous.
- A strong team player who strives to enhance best practice work methods and techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally & written with all levels of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
