Established national removals company seeks a Transport Company Manager to control all elements of operations, driving efficiency, consistency and exceptional service.
Based in Sydney, you will report to the CEO and be responsible for a team of over 60 staff working along the east coast, Adelaide and Perth.
Duties will include:
- Liaising with customers to provide advice about services and respond to complaints
- Implementing schedules considering issues such as congestion, staff levels, vehicle availability
- Monitoring transportation costs and implement strategies for cost reductions
- Ensuring all team members work effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations
- Engaging sub-contractors, negotiate terms and ensure compliance with all company systems and policies
- Ensuring goods are stored and transported in satisfactory conditions to avoid breakages, damage or loss
- Overseeing vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Maintaining business records and preparing monthly operational reports for CEO
- Ensuring strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations through documentation and both office and on-the-job training
We are looking for a person with:
- Diploma or higher qualification in business, management or similar
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in logistics / operations management
- Transport industry related experience and knowledge
- Organisational skills - ability to handle volumes of information / tasks efficiently and methodically
- People skills - dealing with conflict resolution and HR related issues such as disciplinary and performance management
- Financial skills - abiltity to develop budgets, forecasts and reports based on raw data and research
We offer excellent working conditions and a base salary of $80 000 + super.
