Transport Manager

Significant Transport Management opportunity, to utilise your experience in a transport environment with Warehousing & Distribution functions.

This growing, successful Australian wholesale Food Service business is seeking an experienced Transport Manager for its Epping Operations.

Based at Epping Cadell Food Service is a family-owned Australian Food Service success story. We have grown our workforce to over 180 staff with offices in Echuca and Epping. Our success is based on the quality of our staff and a commitment to customer service over more than 20 years. 

Our business is a growing successful participant in the warehousing, logistics and wholesale Food Service industry, who has recently invested in significant infrastructure in anticipation of further expansion. 

This role will have the key objective of managing the following functions for the efficient and accurate management of our Distribution operations at Epping: 

• WH&S & CoR Responsibilities.
• Roadnet/Routing Software optimisation of Daily Routing
• DOT performance
• Customer satisfaction.
• Labour management and effective fleet utilisation.
• Fleet Maintenance

Critical KPIs for this new role will include:

• Develop and maintain all Driver routing as required utilising both Manual & Roadnet/Route IT software
• Develop and maintain Driver rosters.
• Supervise all Drivers for performance and effectiveness.
• Mange the budget for all repairs and maintenance of the Cadell Food Service Epping vehicle fleet.
• Maintain effective relationships with all customers.
• Manage the delivery of goods to customers’ premises.
• Manage the drivers for cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicles and related equipment.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and with supervision exercising initiative, judgement and enthusiasm 
• Manage all  delivery related paperwork including but not limited to manifests, delivery docket, invoice & credit notes
• Monitor drivers through Fleet Complete & Roadnet system. 
• Maintain costs within departmental budgets.
• Management of Driver Fatigue under policy and legislative guidance under our COR
• Stock Delivery Accuracy.

Applicants will be favorably considered with the following:

• Diploma in Logistics or min of Cert 4/5 Frontline Management
• 3+ years of proven experience in Distribution Management,
• Demonstrated experience in Vehicle Routing Operating Systems,
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team,
• Demonstrated results in continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service,
• Labour management and daily employee utilisation experience is essential,
• A clear understanding and appreciation of WHS, CoR and HACCP,
• Strong communication and influencing skills, and
• Proven people management skills including experience working within an EBA/Union environment.

Candidates with prior experience in Food Service, 3PL supply chain and warehousing & distribution industries will be highly regarded. It is expected that candidates will be able to address a significant proportion of the above requirements within their application.

The successful candidate would be based and working from our warehousing & distribution operations in Epping, Victoria. The company will provide an allocated relocation expense if required.

This is a permanent full-time role and salary will be dependent on candidate qualifications and experience.
