We are seeking a Whyalla based Transport Manager to compliment our existing management team.
The company operates a fleet of 25 buses ranging in size from 14 seat Toyota Commuters to 57 seat Coaches. Employing some 35 drivers, which operates seven days per week. Along with a small fleet of 15 taxis supported by some 25 drivers who support our 24/7 taxi service to the Whyalla community.
Reporting directly to the Regional General Manager the purpose of this position is to:
- Ensure the smooth running of the Whyalla fleet operations.
- Manage the Driver rosters.
- Enforce and maintain the high standards set by the company and regulatory bodies.
- Offer leadership, guidance and support wherever needed.
- Liaise with & build good working relationships with the Call Centre, colleagues & drivers.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance in conjunction with the Workshop Manager.
- Manage vehicle accidents and breakdowns.
- Monitor, assess and plan driver recruitment, training and inductions.
- Assist with the handling and resolution of complaints.
- Maintain and improve on fleet and operational KPI's.

- Fleet and/or people management experience desired but not essential.
- An eye for detail.
- Ability to work autonomously, and as a part of a team.
- Full SA drivers license, LR/MR would be an advantage.
- Be willing to obtain a Driver Accreditation and if necessary occasionally drive.
- Good computer and keyboard skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office products.
- Minimum of Cert IV in Business or equivalent of 5 years experience.
- Cert IV Assessment and Workplace Training would be desirable.
- Certificate in WHS Training.
