SEAWAY is an Australian and privately owned business, with a current opening for a Transport Manager to join our team at Merbein.
This role involves strategic management of warehousing, transport and distribution of goods in a fast paced and dynamic environment. The successful applicant will manage the organisation's transport operations, with strong people management and communication skills with safety being of the highest importance. You will develop good customer relationships by providing excellent service that offers practicable solutions to customer requirements or concerns.
This role suits someone with a minimum of 10 years transport experience, looking to grow their career in an organisation that invites change and personal development.
The Role
Utilizing your strong Transport and staff management experience, you will be responsible for managing the staff and operations of our Mildura facilities.
Basic responsibilities of this role will include:
- Daily management of the sites Workshop & Road Operations
- Management of container hardstand and reach stacker operations
- Planning and scheduling workloads
- Oversee & manage daily freight operations
- Effective management of staff & subcontractors
- Site supervision & equipment management
- Customer relationship management
- Identify and act on business development opportunities
- OH&S Adherence – including but not limited to ensuring Chain of Responsibility & Mass Management requirements are met
- Minimum 5 years transport management experience
- 3+ years’ experience staff management
- Good understanding of Customs & Quarantine guidelines
- Mass management knowledge
- Strong understanding of OHS legislation
- Current Drivers Licence
- Very strong attention to detail
- Flexible attitude towards working hours
