Launceston, the largest city in northern Tasmania is a gastronomic hub and offers a diverse range of wineries, distilleries, markets and art galleries to explore during your down time. PurposeAs the Venue Manager, you serve as the second-in-command to the Food and Beverage Manager. Your primary responsibility is to curate an environment where every detail is meticulously considered, ensuring seamless operations throughout the evening dining experience at Grain of the Silos Restaurant, as well as providing day-to-day operational support for Woody’s Bar and the Café. Primary ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager, oversee all operational aspects at Grain of the Silo’s Restaurant and develop innovative and insightful strategies for optimising guest experience and revenue growth opportunitiesLeverage your extensive expertise to guide and mentor your team, ensuring they consistently craft memorable momentsCollaborate closely with the Executive Chef delivering our food experience to our guests.Work with the Sommelier in supporting our wine experience and beverage offeringsManage administrative and planning aspects of the restaurant, including but not limited to scheduling, reporting, package and promotion development, recruitment, personnel management, inventory management, and ordering Skills and ExperiencePrior experience as a Restaurant Manager or Senior Assistant Manager with significant expertise in managing evening dining servicesRobust leadership skills to engage, inspire, and cultivate your team, fostering a positive workplace atmosphereProven track record in managing budgets, overseeing inventory, and creating staff schedulesEffective communicator with adept skills in stakeholder management, both internally and externallyThe ability to adapt to a diverse work schedule is crucial.
